Serail Bath ("Therapy Pack Bath")

Already in ancient Rome marble powder (from the island Tinos and the quarries of Carrara, where later on Michelangelo himself has come for material for his massive statues) was added to a bath, since it had been known that this crystalline-granular limestone acted comforting and healing. The chemical and mineralogical composition of marble is almost similar to its components within chalk. In 1934 in Rügen, people have already added chalk to their baths. Hundreds of years ago chalk-mud baths had been known and famous. Rügen in particular was famous for its chalk soures. In ancient and dignified medical institutions these mud-pack baths had been prepared.

These ancient healing- and soothing packs have somehow been pushed aside by modern medicine. Trends towards naturalness, the remembering of well-tried and the regained knowledge of holistic thinking concerning health precautions have lead to a renaissance with these chalk pack baths.

Chalk is a successful means to fight widespread diseases such as rheumatism - just like moor. With chalk, the dark moor has found its brother.
