Naturally conscious and consciously natural. This idea runs through every area of our hotel in Windischgarsten. We want guests and local residents to be able to enjoy the nature around Dilly just as they do today, even many years from now. That is why we show you here how we generate energy, source food and use materials throughout the hotel.
At Dilly, we rely, among other things, on a biomass heating plant and photovoltaic systems, because sustainability is an essential part of our corporate philosophy. With the construction of our new biomass heating plant and the continued expansion of photovoltaics, we are taking an important step towards climate-friendly energy supply and long-term CO₂ reduction.

Energy Consumption at Dilly Resort
With a total investment of around €5 million in our new wood-chip heating system and modern photovoltaic systems, we are creating the foundation for an environmentally friendly and resource-efficient energy supply for our resort.
In 2025, Dilly Resort’s annual energy demand amounted to around 3 million kWh of heat energy and 2.6 million kWh of electricity. We use biomass from our own wood-chip biomass heating system to supply heat, while part of our electricity is generated by our photovoltaic systems.

Biomass Instead of Gas: Regional Heating with a Big Impact
Biomass Heating Plant
Switching from a gas-fired heating system to a modern wood-chip biomass heating system is transforming the way we supply heat across our resort. This reduces our CO₂ emissions by around 915 tonnes per year.
This is roughly equivalent to:
the annual CO₂ absorption of around 55,000 newly planted trees
a forest area of approximately 20 hectares
an important contribution to climate protection in the region
According to our information, the wood chips used come from regional forestry and enable sustainable, resource-efficient heating for the entire resort.

Photovoltaics: Solar Energy for Dilly Resort
The PV system has an output of 600 kWp. In 2025, it generated 600,000 kWh of electricity, covering around 24% of our total electricity demand.
The existing photovoltaic system alone saves around 190 tonnes of CO₂ per year (2025).
This is equivalent to:
around 10,000 newly planted trees per year
approximately 9 hectares of forest
a significant reduction in our ecological footprint
Expansion of the photovoltaic system in 2027
An expansion of the PV system by 250 kWp is planned for 2027.
Forecast: The new system will generate an additional 200,000 kWh of electricity per year and cover a further 12% of our electricity demand.
This will result in additional annual CO₂ savings of around 76 tonnes.
The existing photovoltaic system alone saves around 190 tonnes of CO₂ per year (2025).
This is equivalent to:
around 10,000 newly planted trees per year
approximately 9 hectares of forest

WE ENJOY U100R
Locally Sourced Food
Local sourcing matters to us. Under our U100R concept, we source at least 80% of our food each year from suppliers located within a maximum radius of 100 km. This means our organic beef comes from Sonnberg, our eggs from Reifinger Farm, our dairy products from Schärdinger Dairy and Hinterburigl Farm, and our freshwater fish from local waters.

WASTE AND RECYCLING MANAGEMENT
We avoid and separate our waste. Will you help us? Our waste separation system in the parents’ kitchen and the ski storage area gives you the opportunity to do so at any time. Would you rather sit back and simply enjoy your holiday? We’re happy to take care of it for you.
Avoiding waste is even better than separating it. We use plastic-free and packaging-free products wherever possible. Plastic straws and bags are a thing of the past. In selected areas, we also avoid single-use plastics: In the SPA, we use reusable cups (glass-free for your safety) and reuse our swimming bags.

ON THE GO, THE GENTLE WAY
YOUR CAR-FREE HOLIDAY
We will pick you up free of charge from Windischgarsten Railway Station with our hotel shuttle upon prior registration. With the e-bike rental station right next to Dilly and an EV charging station at the hotel, you can stay flexible and mobile throughout your holiday – with a clear conscience.

Solar Energy, Heating & Water Use
WELL-THOUGHT-OUT ENERGY CONCEPTS
It is the sun’s energy that powers us. We also have measurement and control technology for optimal energy savings throughout the entire building. Innovative fittings support us in saving water. For example, we use rainwater for watering the football ground and for the snow cannon.
Cleaning & Hygiene at Dilly
CLEANING ACCORDING TO HACCP STANDARDS
At Dilly, we place particular emphasis on hygiene and the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products. In our rooms and public areas, we use certified cleaning products and work according to HACCP standards, ensuring not only excellent hygiene but also the highest possible level of health protection for our guests.
Since introducing steam cleaning, we require significantly fewer cleaning products in our rooms and public areas than before. Savings: around 80% less cleaning chemicals.

DECOR WITH NATURAL MATERIALS
The decoration at Dilly follows the rhythm of nature. It adapts not only to the occasion, but also to what nature has to offer in each season. And we believe that treasures from nature create an even cosier atmosphere – don’t you agree?

Towel & Linen Changes as Needed
You can leave your used towels on the bathroom floor – and we will be happy to replace them with fresh ones. Fresh sauna towels are available at reception at any time. Elegant, reusable leather placemats help us avoid unnecessary use of table linen.
